Candice M. Brown, PhD is an Assistant Professor, Advisory Board
Candice M. Brown, PhD is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neuroscience and Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute at the West Virginia University School of Medicine. She received her PhD at Duke University where her doctoral studies focused on the inflammatory properties of apolipoprotein E in mouse models of Alzheimer’s disease (AD). Her postdoctoral research at the University of Washington addressed the anti-inflammatory mechanisms of 17beta-estradiol in murine experimental stroke and during aging. The goal of her current research program is to understand the neuroimmune and neurovascular mechanisms that underlie cognitive and functional impairment in mouse models of ischemic stroke, sepsis, and Alzheimer’s disease.
